ORNITH SPIRES
ORNITH SPIRES: The Ornith Spires is a line of mountain ranges with towers of stone that reach to the sky far above the cloud line. Only those who are capable of flight or have a ship can reach its summits. Spirals of hot thermal air can reach thousands of feet and can carry those with wings for miles without needing a single wing flap.
AQUILA VILLAGE: A small humble village of stone and terra cotta roofs is perched high atop the spires. Creatures of wing or those that travel by air have made this place their home.
THE FLOATING ISLES: The Floating Isles is one of the most unique areas of Median. The gravity is so low here large chunks of earth have been pulled upward and settled as their own islands suspended in mid-air. Because of this low gravity, even those without wings can jump from one to the other.
- THE FLOATING TEMPLE: Located on one the largest of the Floating Isles an ancient temple sits. At the heart of the temple, a magnificent crystal floats in its center. The crystal can be used to see anything on Median just by touching it.
VIRIDIAN PLATEAU
VIRIDIAN PLATEAU: Viridian Plateau is a section of the planet that consists of wide-open rolling fields of grasslands dotted with patches of spiky acacia-like trees, small lakes, and large mounds of dry rocky outcrops. Small western-like towns pockmark this land. Huge buffalo/reptilian hybrid like creatures move across it in herds of millions.
THE HIGHLANDS: The Highlands make up most of the Viridian Plateau. A stretch of flat green-blue grassland that goes on for miles on a high shelf of bedrock that has been pushed upward centuries ago by tectonic activity. Herds of Bovus and Nir move across this land in the millions. The sunset here is breathtaking as its color paints the entire sky.
BARRENWOOD: A small humble ranching village that lies at the edge of the plateau. The inhabitants usually herd the large six-legged reptilian horses to be sold elsewhere.

BURNING PASS: The Burning Pass can be very dangerous during the day, not because of any alien fauna but because of the pass itself. The sides of the cliffs are riddled with shining flat stones. When Median's large sun moves across the sky, the light hits these stones and reflect blazing red hot beams down into the pass.
JAGGED CANYON: A canyon that stretches for miles with sheer walls and areas plagued by landslides. Not to mention a species of scaly wall climbing goats that call this place home. They can be very temperamental. Be wary when entering here.
THE HELIO DESERT
THE ARCANUM LIBRARY: The Arcanum Library is a vast repository filled with the knowledge amassed from thousands of other worlds. But due to its chaotic nature, the inside of the library is a maze of shifting stairs, corridors that lead in circles, and moving bookshelves. It takes you to what you need the most whether you like it or not.
SHIFTING SANDS: The Shifting Sands is an area of the Helio Desert that is always moving and churning. Under the surface is an entire city of ancient ruins that appears and vanishes with the sand. Treasures and knowledge await those brave enough to risk being buried alive.
THE SUNDIAL: The Sundial is a massive stone arch left behind by the previous inhabitants of Median. It appears to resemble the much smaller stone doors scattered across the world. It could very well be the control hub for all the other fast travel portals. Or perhaps the key to all the new arrivals.

THE VULPES FOREST
THE VULPES FOREST: The Vulpes Forest is an old-growth redwood forest where the trees are larger at their base than most houses. A quiet and serene place, at times only the chirping of a single bird can be heard. At its center lies an abandoned treetop village where many refugees have taken as their home.
CANOPA VILLAGE: An entire village that has been built into the top of the trees. Not so much carved out of the trees, but built in a way that the trees grew around the framework of each hut. That could mean the village predates this ancient forest. Each hut is connected to the next by a plank bridge.
LEPU WILDS: In this part of the forest, the trees seem slightly different from the rest. Many have gashes taken out of them as if they have been chewed on. These marks were made by the teeth of the Lepu, a thirty-foot long rabbit with long curled horns and scales. Good for riding but panic easily.
MEDIAN VALLEY
MEDIAN VALLEY: Median Valley is a deep lush basin that has a natural temperate climate with a large lake in its center surrounded by a dense forest of tall ancient trees. Trees that could very well be thousands if not millions of years old. While this place seems calm there is something about it that feels otherworldly. Here you can find Median City.

When night falls the Park District's lights come on in a dazzling display of romance. The fountain at its center glows a bright blue due to bioluminescent algae.
-SEWERS SYSTEM: The sewer system has pipes that connect to each district and take rainwater away from the city to the lake. If you access these massive pipes you could come up anywhere.
THE ANCIENT FOREST: An ancient place. The oldest location of Median. Tall dark hardwood trees reach to the sky and must be thousands of years old. There is a strange calm here and any urge to fight is lost, as travelers feel like they are in the presence of something far bigger than themselves. People say that even when they are alone here, they do not feel alone. Most come to this forest to find peace and enlightenment.
RADIAN LAKE: A beautiful lake of clear water and still surface. You can see to the bottom even near its center. Large reptilian-like catfish called Piscis live there whose scales reflect the entire spectrum of color. The lake is often still and serene. Median City sits in the very center.
THE MEDIAN STABLES: Large stables lie just outside the city housing strange six-legged horses called Nir. Nir are heavy and muscular, sporting a large fan instead of a mane with long reptilian tails. They move as fast as the wind and are just as temperamental. If you have no vehicle or ship, taming one of these beasts might be easier than walking. IF you can tame one that is...
THE AEQUOR SEA
THE AEQUOR SEA: The Aequor Sea is an expanse of water that makes up more than half of the planet’s surface area. Its endless depths make it a perfect home for those that swim.
THE TIBURON SEAPORT: A massive seaport where wayfarers venture out into the ocean to bring back its treasures. OBSIDIAN SHADES
OBSIDIAN SHADES: Obsidian Shades is an area of smoking mountains and volcanic activity plagued by quakes and flowing rivers of magma. Nothing grows here and anything that did has long since died from the noxious fumes of the sulfur fields and gas geysers. The sky is always covered in smoke blocking the sun. Here you can find the city of Chiroptera.
CHIROPTERA CITY: A somewhat modest-sized city shrouded in smoke with gray aged stone buildings and surrounded by a stone wall. Many of the more interesting refugees have come to settle here. In the distance, an old castle lays in ruins from the previous inhabitants. While it may look empty you are never really alone...
- CHIROPTERA CASTLE: This dark place towers over the city below. No one dares venture here unless very brave, or very foolish. The black stone walls, barbed strangler vines, and monstrous statues are just a glimpse of what is inside this stately castle.
- THE CALIGO MARKETPLACE: Here the locals can find shops to purchase items that are more, out of the way and less on the up and up than you would find in other cities.
THE PETRIFIED FOREST: This strange forest is unlike any on the planet. The trees are no longer trees. Something in this place has transformed every tree, animal, and insect into solid stone. The only cure is a rare flower that grows somewhere in the forest. The only living thing here.
THE STYGIAN VOLCANO: A highly active volcano that spews hot ash, fire, and plumes of dark smoke into the sky covering Obsidian Shades in eternal night. There is a constant thunderstorm near the crater at the top and even has the occasional downpour of acid rain. Despite the danger, however, rare gems such as diamonds can be found in the maze of tunnels and lava tubes under the volcano.
THE BADLANDS: The Badlands is an expanse of volcanic activity that ranges from the Stygian Volcano to the sea. The ground is cracked from magma that flows just below. Steam geysers and random eruptions are a constant threat here.

THE SULFUR FIELDS: A wasteland of noxious fumes and dead trees. What used to be a forest is now covered by a thin layer of crust that feels like it could break at any moment under your feet. While venturing here is dangerous the risk is worth the effort. Legend has it at its center grows a rare tree whose fruit will cure any disease or heal any wound.

ARANEAE SWAMP: The Araneae Swamp is a massive swampland full of dense moss-covered trees and oppressive hot humid air. It rains here most of the year and is largely uninhabited, or is it?
FEN VILLAGE: A small modest village at the edge of the swamp. Built on stilts and connected to one another by planks wrapped in vine. Many swamp-dwelling refugees have made this musty place their home.
TAMGUS MIRE: A dark place of witchcraft and voodoo. Even the moss-covered trees seem twisted and evil. Be wary of the small glowing blue lights, they can lead you deeper into the mire never to be seen again. If you are looking for potion ingredients or poisonous plants this is the place to find them.
THE NEAN BOG: A place near the heart of the swamp that is teeming with giant half spider-half reptilian creatures called Neans. It is said if you can kill one and retrieve the single eye in the center of its head, the eye can lead you to the one thing you desire most. If you do manage to get one, getting out alive may be an entirely new issue altogether.
MEMORIA MISTS: A sinister location deep within the swamp where the trees stop and giant mushrooms grow. A blanket of mist covers the floor of this place and the longer you stay, the more you forget yourself. Soon you won't even remember why you are there or even your name. Many who come here end up wandering in and out of the mists forever. However, the mist only affects organic beings.
STEELGATE CRATER
STEELGATE CRATER: Steelgate Crater is an anomaly even for a place like Median. A meteor strike centuries ago created a massive crater that spans hundreds of miles long. But this crater holds a strange secret. The ground, trees, and everything else had been terraformed into metal.
FORGE CITY: Over the centuries a metallic futuristic city has developed in the center of the crater. One of the most technologically advanced places on Median. Its inhabitants vanished but left behind metal skyscrapers and towers of spiraling glass. Many of the robotic and cybernetic refugees have made this place their home.
THE CORE: Far below the city lies catacombs of interlocking tubes of metal that lead deep below the crater. A strange hum can be heard and felt the farther down you go. The meteor that crashed here several thousand years ago lies deep below the city and seems to have been used as a power source.
THE MERCURY POOLS: The Mercury Pools lie just outside of Forge City and are bubbling mud pots of liquid metal. The move almost as if they are alive. When a damaged metallic life form comes in contact with these pools it can result in strange and sometimes random effects.
THE SILICATE FOREST: A very strange place inside the crater. What used to be a living forest has been terraformed into acres and acres of shimmering crystal trees that grow from the metallic ground. They pulse with some sort of internal energy and come in several colors. When the odd cubes from these trees is eaten by a metallic life form it could yield surprising results.

ALGID CITY: A city that lies on the pack ice and is comprised of the ice itself. From the buildings to the walls to the furniture. Mind the seats, it could be a bit chilly. Many who can survive this cold frigid land have made this place their home.
BOREAL MONS: The tallest mountain on Median. The peak rises far above the clouds and very few have made the climb. It is said if you do make it to the top you will see the Boreal aurora. The most spectacular sight in the known universe.
