Plot Summary.: Kaine and Otto have located an energy in the cave. But they need to overcome what lies in the cave and that is something bad all together as their nightmares await them.

Today had been an unusual day as he took one of the pods down to Median and arrived at one of the caverns. It had been giving off a strange signal that they would check out. Kaine knew that Otto could probably handle himself. But he was curious to find out what was in the cave. Viridian Plateau was a part of Median that Kaine hadn't explored yet. A vast amount of this world was unknown to him. He didn't want to stick around for long. Who knew what kind of monsters or other Shades may be wandering around here. He knew that they had to get in and get out to locate the energy. It might be one of those spheres that Otto had been talking about.

There had been a signal coming off from the cavern as Kaine knew that they had to go ahead and investigate. Kaine left Ahadi the saber lizard back at the space station with Cindi to look after him while they were gone as the two got along. He was outside of the cavern waiting for Otto to come. The last time he had been here, at the cavern. Kaine had been a very personal note where Madame Webb had tried to help out with his memories. Kaine wanted to be a better person. Kaine had to learn to forgive the Jackal. Deep down, he knew he could. Kaine sat down in a crouched position on one of the shiny rocks.

“This place gives me the creeps. I wouldn’t stay here for very long. Not even looking for trouble,” Kaine admitted. Not many things scared Kaine all that often. But he knew this cavern was different. It gave off a strange set of vibrations or waves that even he didn’t understand. The mirror cavern gave out your deepest darkest secrets, memories, and anything you hung on to. Anything that might be worth saving or keeping a secret. Kaine had never once admitted to Otto that he had several fears himself. Fear of death is one of them, fear of that creature once more, fear of having nightmares. Fear of self doubt. Not being able to overcome things.

They could turn back, but they had already come so far. Kaine wasn’t about to give up now. Kaine saw his reflection at the start of the cave. His black and red scarlet spider suit, staring back at him. "I'm ready when you are, Otto," Kaine said. The spider knew this cave was a labyrinth. They could be spending days or hours in it. The crystals shined brightly at the mouth of the cave and sparkled when the sun hit them just right.
