Gerry’s day had started out as any other normal day, perhaps even more exciting start actually. The young man had been planning this occasion for months. A new costume, a new name, everything had taken planning and time, and he had been ready to reveal his big surprise to his parents and the Amazing Eight. Excitedly he been swinging through New York, a large grin plastered on his face behind his new face mask as he made his way to their small headquarters. It had been within his sights, one good final leap…and that was when it happened.
A mysterious portal opened up in front of him in midair, and he was already too close to avoid it. His eyes had widened and he had no time to react beyond being sucked right through.
Seconds later, Gerry found himself being spat out the opposite side, gasping as he was brought out several feet above what appeared to be a thick jungle. Of course he would have this luck! He found himself going into a free fall, jaw tightening as he adjusted his body to go straight to steady his dive, a red and black malleable substance covering his body as he did so. Looks like he would have to go Hybrid for this situation…Six pairs of tendrils extended from his back then, a thin reddish black membrane connecting between them to act as pseudo glider wings and allowing him to catch some air, slowly his descent somewhat enough that when he reached the canopy he had opportunity to extend a webbing from his wrist towards the nearest tree branch. But, he still had a fair bit of momentum, retracting the glider wings to extend several tendrils to wrap around and catch tree limbs as he went, gradually slowing his momentum until he could safely land on the ground below.
Now that had a been a trip!
“Well, so much for that plan.” He sighed, the symbiote retracting back into his body as Gerry turned back and forth on the spot to take in his surroundings. Had that odd portal taken him to the Amazon somehow? It was hot and humid, and odd animal sounds filled the air with echoes of life. So, he definitely was somewhere where life could thrive, but it definitely was no Central Park. “Just my luck.” He groaned under his breath, reaching up to the side of his mask where his communicator was connected and tapped on the transmission button, “<This is Shadow Spider reporting in, is anyone there?>” Gerry tried to reach out through his com channels, but got no response in turn, adjusting it to expand the channels. “<Hello?? Anyone?>” He tried once more, hoping to get some kind of response, for anyone to answer.

There were a lot of things Captain Hook currently wished for. Being on his pirate ship in Neverland. Smee actually being smart. Defeating Peter Pan once and for all. Actually departing from the area he was currently in. Scowling, he looked around.
''One hot jungle. Wonderful.''
Captain Hook used his black sleeve to wipe his forehead. He was able to hear various animal sounds. He didn't recognize any of them. As long as it wasn't the sound of a ticking clock. The one clock he managed to feed a certain crocodile. At least he didn't have to worry about her. Unless the portal also brought the crocodile to the world he was in?
Scowling again, Captain Hook raised his hook above his head. He used it to slice through various plants. Slice with ridiculous ease. His cape moved with him. Long white hair remained still on his back. The ground crunched under his low heel boots.
Captain Hook's steps ceased as soon as he discovered a form he wasn't familiar with. He squinted.
The form appeared to be... masked?
Although Captain Hook was a pirate, he remained a gentleman. Most of the time. Traits he had inherited from his beloved mother. It was a shame they were never passed down to Jasper Hook.
After Captain Hook walked to the form, he paused and bowed. He had no idea where his pirate hat was. Captain Hook smiled.
The form was addressed in one polite tone and a British accent.
''Captain James Hook. At your service.''

Gerry was only greeting by constant silence and static on his comms. He didn’t know whether it was due to interference from the portal, no signal in this jungle, or he just was far too out of reach. Regardless of the reason, no one seemed to be getting his inquiries. Basically, he was on his own and not even Kraven could probably track him at this rate. “Perfect.” He sighed, resting his hands on his hips as he processed his situation.
He was deep in a humid jungle, no real supplies to use or communication available to him. And he was…alone. It was not the ideal situation, and he likely would hear no end of it from Miles and Gwen for getting himself into this mess, a mess he wasn’t even sure how he got into.
When a sudden British voice spoke up however, Gerry hadn’t been expecting it. The younger male whipped around, almost firing off webbing out of reflex but managed to stop himself. He really must have been distracted to not have heard the sound of Hook approaching. ‘Come on Gerry, get your head in the game!’ He scolded himself. What if it had been an enemy or someone hostile? He would have been an easy target if Hook had any ill intent. Moment like this he was glad for his new mask to hide that embarrassment, “Uh, hi. Pleasure to meet you I guess.” With the surprise subsiding, Gerry realized he didn’t quite know what to make of his situation. Not only had he ended up in a strange jungle, but he was now face to face with a pirate. A strangely lone pirate at that…
“I’m, uh, Shadow Spider, and I just arrived here by a portal. If you can believe that.” It sounded almost insane saying that out loud. Who would believe something as unrealistic as that? Appearing through a portal that just showed up randomly and brought him here…He might as well be called mental for saying it.

The heat caused Captain Hook's scowl to return. His hand was brought above his eyes. Focusing on the young man again, he smiled. Captain Hook heard the latter while he said that it was a pleasure to meet him. He gave one nod. He was also able to hear a name. Confusion was why one eye widened.
''Shadow Spider? Why are you called Shadow Spider?''
Eyes widened at the mention of a portal. Another scowl materialized.
''I believe it. A portal brought me here as well. It was quick to remove me from Neverland. Where were you when the portal appeared?''
If something brought another person to the area, then...? Was it actually possible that Peter Pan had been brought to the world as well? He supposed. Were even members of his pirate crew around? Captain Hook had no idea. He looked around.
''I'm not familiar with this area at all.''
About believing anything.
Captain Hook smirked.
''Where I come from, there are obnoxious flying BOYEES and spirits. Nothing shocks me. Except for maybe a certain crew member displaying any signs of intelligence.''

Right, it might be strange for someone to hear his code name who had never heard them before. Gerry hadn’t exactly thought of that. “Oh, uh…It’s my codename you see. Where I come from, I’m a super hero so we always have a second name to hide our true identities. Kind of a safety hazard is all.” He wondered if any of that would make sense to Hook at all. The man seemed to come from a very different place than himself, so it likely could be confusing as it would be for him to understand wherever Hook came from.
So he thought at least.
As Hook explained more of knowing about the portals, being a relief that be didn’t sound mental after all, as well as where he came from it dawned on Gerry about something. This was the Captain Hook! Neverland, the flying Lost Boys, an incompetent crew, the man’s name…”Holy cow! You mean you’re the Captain Hook!” Gerry prompted suddenly, not thinking before he spoke in excitement. “Where I’m from, you and Peter Pan, Neverland, the Lost Boys, you guys are characters in a fair tale story. I never would have thought you guys were real.” But it was as those last words came out of his mouth did Gerry realize how abrupt that may be, as well as the shock of knowing you weren’t real in one world. “Er, sorry, got a little excited there. Just not every day you get to meet someone whose only suppose to a fictional character in your world.” He apologized sheepishly, once more mentally kicking himself to probably not making that sound any better.
Clearing his throat, Gerry tried to turn to more important matters, “So, exactly where are we? I was swinging about the city of New York, and then the next thing I know I was here.” He finally inquired, hoping Hook at least had some idea of where they were. He certainly had no clues.

One of Captain Hook's eyes widened in bewilderment after the name explanation.
''I see about other names. A superhero, hmm?'' Captain Hook didn't always get along with anyone heroic. Then again, he was also known to spare his enemies. Rarely. If he was forced to work with anyone good? So be it.
Captain Hook's eyes were wide the second Shadow Spider revealed he knew who he was.
''The obnoxious boy and even bo'sun Smee are well known? How do people know about us? I don't recall seeing anyone else other than my crew. Well, I do know Django. He owns a fun house. Then there's Tiger Lily. Oh. Wendy does like to tell fables. Did she say anything about us?''
Captain Hook currently scowled another time. At least before he heard the apology. He smiled.
''You don't have to apologize.''
As for where they were?
''Good question. I say we travel.''
Captain Hook's expression then became one of interest.
''One of my men is from New York. Robert Mullins. Are you familiar with him? He was always a superstitious fellow.''
