Bruno Madrigal
Name: Bruno Madrical
Nickname: Tio Bruno, Brunito
Canon or OC: Canon
Fandom: Encanto
Age: 40-50 years estimated
Species: Human
Name of Homeworld: Columbia
Sexuality: Straight
Face Claim: None
Appearance: Bruno has dark complexion and appears to have scraggly short black hair that he inherited from his father. Bruno in his form appears to be weaker than the three triplets that he had. He seems to wear a black hooded caped man where he is seen throughout. Often times the towns folk depict him as a villain coming out from the darkness, when this isn't the case at all. Bruno also has dark brown eyes that turn green when he is using his vision ability. Bruno seems to be taller than Mirabel as his current height and weight are unknown. He may be anywhere from 5'0"-5'5" since he is shorter than his two sisters. Bruno wears a green poncho and green sandels. It is said that Mirabel's glasses which are green represent Bruno.
Weapons: Bruno has a bucket/helmet that he has been shown to punch a wall through the Madrigald house when it shattered.
He also seems to have the occasional dagger or two.
Powers/Magic
Animal Understanding: Bruno seems to have an understanding towards the rats or at least has some friends with them. They do bidding for him even collect food or information not to the degree that his nephew Antonio has but there appears to be some understanding towards each other.
Psychic: Bruno has the ability to see the future. To help cope and focus his abilities, Bruno uses a large area that can be used for the taxing amount of power, to see his visions. He draws a circle with sand and burning leaves in order to perform his ritual. Bruno does not have full control of his ability so it is hard to say exactly when or what point in the future these events will occur.
When Bruno's abilities are initiated, his eyes turn a deep green and glow emerald bright in the sand. When the vision ends, Bruno has a form of thick emerald slab with the vision imprinted on it with the most significant detailed part of the vision on it. Even shattered pieces continue to have the vision on it. The slab can be created and shown different outcomes by titling it in different directions.
Sand: Not totally understanding the full nature of it. Bruno appears to have an association with sand. It may be because sand is associated with a time hour glass piece where it tells of it in an hour. Or that it is similar to glass. No one is quiet sure why the reason is for this.
Physical Abilities: None
Weaknesses:
OCD: Bruno has a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It is often viewed as he has been shown being superstitious and throwing salt over his shoulder, knocking on wood, and avoiding stepping on cracks. This caused his niece Mirabel to be very confused at his actions but in reality she saw he was fixing the cracks in the wall and putting them together so the house wouldn't fall apart eventually. Bruno knew that he was trying to help but in the end, his efforts on fixing the cracks would be reduced to nothing. He might also have a bit of personality disorder as he showed that he was putting the walls back together as he was meant to be an actor.
Shaming: Bruno was forced out of the Madrigal family as he gave often dark predictions such as a hurricane ruining his siblings wedding day, a fish going to die, or someone forming a gut were more of observations. Since Bruno knew his visions were hurting his family he ran away and most of the family forced him out. Bruno, however stayed despite the family not wanting him there, he stayed in the walls. Bruno was still loyal to the family and remained with Abuela to make sure that the family stayed together. His family finally accepted him when Mirabel and the others helped fix the house after it fell. Bruno doesn't seem to mind being alone but he felt very left out of the family.
Weak Form: Bruno's form appears to be weak and scrawny compared to the rest of the family. It is likely he may not have any formal training or combat so he wouldn't do well in a fight against others who were much stronger such as Luisa.
Visions: Sometimes Bruno was afraid of his visions knowing they were hurting his family more than doing good. However, Mirabel realized that this wasn't the case at all. Mirabel demanded showing the vision to its full extent even if Bruno didn't have a desire at all.
Darkness: Bruno has spent a lot of time in the walls of the Madrigal house causing him to get used to the darkness though he doesn't seem to mind the sun. Bruno seems to prefer to hide in the darkness.

Personality: Bruno has been shown by the other families as being shunned out by the rest of the Madrigal as they won't talk about him. (However they certainly will sing about him!) Bruno has shown that his powers have hurt the family in more than one occasion so he was forced to leave his tower in the Madrigal house. However, he didn't actually flee, he had been hiding in the walls as Dolores believed she had heard him whispering often times like sand. Despite as coming off as villainous. Bruno is actually a kindhearted man and shows loyalty towards his family. It only is until he is accepted at the end by his mother, Alma that he is welcomed back in the family after willing to take the blame for Mirabel that he saw the vision of her and the house breaking and falling apart.
Bruno has shown to have a large understanding on how his visions work and seeing the future, however, due to being afraid of it and the family he believed that his powers were hurting it. Not until Mirabel told him otherwise that things would be fine. Bruno has been shown to befriend rats that live with him in the walls. Bruno also seems to have OCD obsessive compulsive disorder and is very superstitious by throwing salt over his shoulder or knocking on wood. He seems to have some oddities that even confused Mirabel but she is able to help her uncle heal. Bruno has been shown to be strong, kind, and caring in his own right. As he seems a bit off the walls on others, as he appears to be a bit athletic jumping from a part of the house that had fallen through and came to rescue Mirabel after knowing the vision saw her, she was important to the family even if the others harassed them or were mean to her and him.
History:
(Please do not read if you wish to avoid spoilers about Encanto!)
Bruno is the youngest of of the Madrigal family as he was born to Alma and Pedro Madrigal. The family was forced to flee when Columbian soldiers attacked their village. With Pedro sacrificing himself, Alma was forced to go on her own. She felt the loss and pain as soon a gift was bestowed upon her family. Alma soon became the matriarch of the Madrigal family and a candle a miracle was blessed as she would be able to live in a house now with peace and kindness. The healing process would begin for the family. Soon the family would grow with nieces and nephews. They would all gain powers in some way with an exception of Mirabel who was for some unknown reason, not given a gift on her 12th birthday like her siblings or the rest of the family. Bruno was pushed out by the family for troubling visions, as the town didn't accept him at all. Or they could've been observations that had been made on the end. Bruno would soon be found later in the walls by Mirabel and she had collected the vision of the cracking house. Mirabel witnessed the house cracking on Antonio's birthday who would have a gift of listening and understanding to animals, and is currently youngest of the family.
This vision troubled Bruno as he tried to see what was going on. However, it frightened him so much that he smashed it to pieces in the tower that he had been calling home. Mirabel would soon find Bruno in an unusual way as the rats gathered up the pieces and she chased him down different path in the cracks and deep walls in the house. Finally Bruno jumped over a broken down part of the floor where as Mirabel was unsuccessful. Bruno went back to rescue Mirabel before 'falling' realizing it was only a foot or so down into the house.
After this, Mirabel seemed to be confused why Bruno had stayed as he did several superstitious acts such as throwing salt over his shoulder, or knocking on wood. And she also noticed that he had been attempting to repair the cracks. Mirabel had asked why he had stayed and what the vision meant. After Bruno said he didn't look too deep into it and shattered it. Mirabel began to get brave as she wanted to see what had happened. Antonio her cousin had eavesdropped on Bruno and Mirabel as she offered his room for Bruno to perform his vision. Bruno reluctantly accepted the idea and Mirabel went on with it.
Soon Bruno got a vision of the house cracking, and Mirabel at the front of it. As her possibly the one to save the house and the candle. Or the other end, was to mend relationships that had been caused by all of this. Since Mirabel and Isabela hadn't exactly been good friends at all. She attempts to give Isabela a hug, but her efforts are not totally in vain as Isabela discovers that she can make more plants appear.
After this she has a fight with Alma, and realizing that none of them are perfect enough for her. Mirabel's actions cause the house to start to crumble as she attempts to save the candle as it falls and almost burns out. With the house now in pieces and Bruno jumps out at the last minute. Mirabel is rescued by the house and at what coast? She flees the area as she feels guilty for what has happened and rests at the lake. Not noticing the significance of the lake as Alma later reveals it towards her that was the river that she had fled from with Pedro. After the family reconciles and Bruno is hugged by Alma. The family soon goes back to the house and starts to repair it with the help of the village. They are given their magical abilities back.
At least that was how it ended.
With the happiness returned as Bruno returned to his tower. He found a new vision of something cracking something so sharp, a vision of a tall library, and so powerful, sand, he couldn't seem to understand it. Leaving the emerald slab behind he fell into a portal as it sucked him into it and onto the other side. Bruno found himself in some sand on the desert in front of a mysterious library but it appears he is not alone in this strange universe. As this new vision is certainly troubling indeed. But it does show, that there are different dimensions out there, and now truly lost with no way back home. Bruno appears to be stuck at the library. Despite many of those who have been forced to come here. Bruno's was more voluntary than anything else. He seems to have a feeling that he has a purpose here and wants to discover what it is.
