Egon had been led on a wild goose chase. He knew that from the beginning, as soon as he set foot in the forest. As Egon’s feet grew weary, not to mention carrying the heavy Proton Pack on your back that weighed 90 pounds, it would eventually get to your back. But he was determined. With his PKE in one hand, he was checking every sign to see that he was in the right direction. He had noticed the foggy forest that he had stepped into. The ancient and eerie feeling was hard to miss. He knew he was not in Median City anymore. And Peter would notice he had disappeared. Egon sometimes got lost in his own investigation and would often wander off. It happened once when he was doing the one with the Sedgwick Hotel. But they did say to split up.
The sun was going down, so he hardly saw any sign of the sky anymore. The canopy of trees covered it. It was probably in the afternoon by now, as far as he could tell. The sun should still be up and active for a few more hours. But Egon had never seen such a densely packed forest like this before.
“Interesting fauna here. I would like to take a sample of it while I'm here. It seems to radiate some bioluminescent abilities here.” Egon said as he had about taking a petri dish in order to take a sample of it. As he did. He carefully picked up a few leaves and also the main part of the blue, glowing plant. It was mesmerizing. He could probably stare at it all day if he wanted to. But he had to press on.
Hisss. Hiss….
Wait. What was that?
Egon could’ve sworn he heard something. As he took a few more steps into the forest, he turned his back. But that was when a blue, glowing bird flew past him, and he realized that it was just his imagination. That was when Poe appeared to him in the trees. “I know why you’re here. Something isn’t right. Something bad is about to happen.” Egon said as the crow gave a warning caw towards him.
That was when his PKE meter started to go off as the prongs went off. This was either really bad or really good, as far as he was concerned. And he was about to find out as white eyes surrounded him. “Hisss hiss!” The voice said again as Egon pointed the proton pack towards them, and he blasted one of the creatures, hearing a scream from it. “Get back!” Egon warned the crow as he flew down to try and claw the creature’s eyes out. It worked. Well, the proton pack did more damage. While he hadn’t gotten a tether around it. That was enough to damage the creature as it fled from the area. It’d be back, though. They always come back.

Ash had been led on a wild goose chase, at least that’s what he thought as he walked through the forest of giant trees. He was hired to track down an alien creature that had come to this world and was feeding on the local livestock. The creature was big, with scales and horns. He had followed its trail but lost it somehow, even though its feet were huge. From what he saw, the creature was at least nine feet tall and had a voracious appetite. It reminded him of an ex-girlfriend he'd rather forget.
He was equipped with a chainsaw and cooler in a duffle bag on his back, and his boomstick in his hand as he wandered through the redwoods for at least three hours. After a while, he decided to take a break and stopped to rest. He tossed down the bag, pulled out the cooler, sat on a fallen tree, and grabbed a beer and sandwich. Holding the can in his right mechanical hand, he crushed it just enough to pop the top and took a few long swigs. While he was enjoying his drink and snack, he looked up and saw birds scatter. He also heard someone talking and noticed a guy in a jumpsuit through the bushes.
“What the…" He was sitting on the trunk, enjoying his beer, when a sudden bright flash shot through the brush and hit the trunk. The impact left a trail of scorched wood as he dropped his beer can and fell backward behind it! The can was struck, and its liquid vaporized, causing it to explode outward!

Egon seemed surprised to see another face in the brush he thought he had been alone this whole time. While he would've loved to have the company of Peter around there would've been more than one ghostbuster to deal with these creatures. His hand was still on the trigger of the proton pack and wondered if they could be captured. But by observation alone they were just vaporized into thin air from the looks of it. So trapping and studying were not an option this time. He would be happy just getting out alive. Peter would've found a way to find a funny moment in this. And Ray would've been a nerd. Well they were both nerds as ghostbusters.
"Sorry about the... beer." Egon apologized. He looked like he could relax just for a tiny bit now. "The name is Egon Spengler. I was tracking some ghosts... It's my job." He said rather dryly. He would've given anything to be back in the lab and eating cheez-its. "But found something else those Shadow creatures. And a person." He said making a note that the orange light that came from it. He was not the best with small talk. That was Peter's job. As he looked over the unusual man he couldn't place that he's seen him before. But he knew one thing those shadow creatures could be back any minute now.
"I'm sure they'll be back they are crawling all over the place." Egon said remembering that he had his PKE reader in his pocket. It was vibrating as he fumbled around for it. The PKE meter could see what they couldn't with their eyes as it was lit up and prongs were out. A clear sign that they were not alone in the woods there. "And they're all around us." He said. Sometimes he thanked the PKE meter with his life. And other days he hated it. "Don't suppose you could lend a... hand." Well that was a dumb question. Egon was terrible at jokes. As he glanced down at his pants he realized he lost his phone somewhere on the way. So there was no way to call for back up. He had to figure out how to get back to the main road again or they were stuck out here.
