The work had been exhausting but worth it in the end. The space station was up and running as Kaine was helping move storage bins. While the nanobots and drones were doing the majority of it, Kaine knew that he needed to help and be productive somewhere. The clone had become more accepting that he was not Peter, yet apart from him, he was still reminded day in and day out. It felt like a bit of a tug of war. Kaine was trying his best to move on. He was becoming aware that more spiders might show up in this area. However, he was hesitant to approach them. He knew that there might be trouble. Usually, trouble followed. So he watched them from above. There was that futuristic spider who had worn a blue suit from the Day of the Dead. Then there was that Spider-Man that he didn't recognize. Wasn't it Peter? But regardless, they all seemed to work separately, as far as he was concerned.
Kaine was rummaging through some of the junk that he had found. Or at least what he had deemed junk. He pulled out piles of pieces of metal that made no sense to him. Most of it was trash or old body parts that had once been the machine. They would be recycled and sent into the trash down below for parts to be used again.
"Hey, what's this?" Kaine asked as he pulled out something like a shining, glowing gem that he had not touched before. "OW!" Kaine exclaimed, nearly dropping it, finding that it was incredibly hot to the touch. It was in the pile of junk that was going down to be disposed of. While his hand throbbed a little bit, his suit had protected him for the most part. As the stone began to cool off, it seemed to be charged up somehow, as the lights in the room were absorbing some of the energy. "Interesting," he said, rubbing the back of his head. Maybe Otto knew what it was? Since he had no idea, some sort of space rock or meteorite might be worth hanging onto.
"It looks like the space station is almost fully up and running. I can't wait to see when it is fully finished." Kaine said. As he wore the familiar red and black suit of his, he had his face mask off. Since he trusted the other people that were on it, there was no need to hide. He knew everyone up here. And he knew that he had to keep working to make himself busy. And he was frustrated once again that he had to leave Elusion to go here. But at least he graduated before he got here. That was the important part.
"Hey Otto, how is it going?" Kaine asked. "Anything I can do? I'm about to send this stuff to the garbage disposal. And maybe take a break after this." Kaine suggested feeling a little bit tired.

While Kaine was completing an assigned task, Otto was focused on replacing the lights in the ceiling that had been damaged during a previous attack on the station. With precision and attention to detail, one of his upper arms reached up to remove the broken light source, while the other replaced it with a new one. Although the work was repetitive, it was a necessary task, and the entire bank of lights successfully turned on when Otto had completed his work. The Observatory stood as an incredible marvel of engineering, which far exceeded any comparable feats from his own world. Through its use, Otto could observe beyond this system, charting thousands of others. However, of late, he found himself preoccupied with the dark purple star, which appears to draw nearer with each passing day. Upon hearing a colleague's statement, he concluded his work and acknowledged the statement with a nod.
"Excellent work," remarked Otto, observing Kaine's current state of health. "It appears that you are quite exhausted. Therefore, we shall conclude for today. Only the hangar remains to be addressed." Otto sighed softly, his tone serious. "However, the mainframe still poses a challenge. Despite having restored the station's life support and critical functions, the main computer remains inoperative. Its memory core is currently offline and has yet to be accessed." As Otto's feet touched the ground, he let out an audible grunt. Otto stood with his hands in his pockets and expressed his desire, "If we could reboot it, we would gain valuable insights into the fate of this world and its inhabitants, as well as the reason behind our presence here." With just the two of them on the station, progress was slow, considering this place was once home to thousands of people.

Kaine nodded, all the hard work that they had completed trying to get the space station running had been something had taken days, even weeks as far as he could tell. He enjoyed the space station so much he felt free here, no one could call him a clone or anything. And he couldn't be judged up here. However, on some occasions he did take trips back down to Median to see how things were doing there and ran into some interesting faces and ran into Jimmy again the Wolverine offspring. He had a temper just as bad as his father, or maybe worse as far as he could tell.
But as far as he was concerned the space station was concerned and all these repairs would be worth it in the end. Even recycling old metal for other uses would find some help in the long run. "Yes, thank you Otto." He added as he showed he was a bit tired. He wasn't wearing his suit anymore more of casual clothing but with the nanobot technology he could easily access it with a wrist watch in his hand if he needed to get to one in a matter of moments if trouble arised. Ever since those shadow people came, Kaine was a little on edge, but with the yellow light throughout the space station they were able to figure out a way to thwart them. They also disliked light so badly that there were clues left by the other humans and civilization who lived here.
"It's a real shame. We could gain a lot from understanding the past civilization and people who lived here. I think the Shadows really did a lot of damage to this place. Tore it apart piece by piece." Kaine said. "Hm what energy source does the core need? I'm not exactly a science nerd like someone we won't name, but I'm sure we can put our heads together to figure it out." Kaine said wondering if he was too tired right now to figure it out. But a well deserved rest was probably in sight.
"My other concern is that there are other spiders that are appearing from different dimensions. I haven't interacted with some of them. Maybe avoiding them on purpose. All of us come together usually when danger comes at the last minute. But my past isn't exactly something to be proud of. I was supposed to be the bad guy. But I guess we all have our troubles." Kaine said with a shrug. Maybe if the right time came along he could find another headquarters for them to come and go at. Not a permanent fixture, but he believed one was out there. "I believe that future Spider-Man was already looking into one for us maybe he'll find one." Kaine said knowing there were plenty of broken buildings and ones that can be fixed up. Kaine was more concerned about fixing the space station. And if trouble ever arised on Median that needed them he'd help.
