Personality: Lydia is odd and considered a bit different than most teenagers that you might come across. She is a goth, and it shows that she dresses in all black. She has had an interest in the supernatural and the paranormal since she was a child. She is a bit of an outcast, and all the students think she is a bit odd. However, she doesn't seem to mind it at all; she seems to have accepted this part of her. Lydia knows she needs friends, but at the same time she doesn't want them since she knows that they are going to help her. She chooses her friends wisely, and when you do have Lydia, you will have her as a friend for life. She doesn't care much for money. She just seems to have some simple moments in her life where she enjoys things like tea and gardens.
When Lydia isn't into the paranormal or the supernatural, she is often focusing on classes or studies. She showed she had potential for intelligence and reading books. While she states she doesn't like reading them, she would admit that she doesn't like them in front of others. But she has a stack of them in the room that she lives in now for them to read later, right before bed. Lydia seems lonely, and maybe she should acquire a friend or two who might put up with her strangeness. However, she dreads it if Beetlejuice were to ever show up in Median. And she certainly hopes not.

History:
After the previous owners mysteriously died, the Deetz family bought the house and moved in as it was going to be transformed into "modern art," whatever that was at the time considered by her mother's strange fascination for art. Lydia, their only child, was less than thrilled about moving to Connecticut, as she objected from the moment she heard about it. Lydia was forced to move, and then they arrived at the house. The house seemed old, from the 1970s, and had never been renovated or anything like that.
After they were checking out the house, Lydia was drawn to the upstairs area, where she saw a room leading to the attic. The door was locked, and she asked her mother for the skeleton key. After the door clicked open, she went inside, seeing that the room was just like the owners had left it. There was a large mini-model of the town and where they lived. It looked like it had been made yesterday and was in pristine condition. Lydia thought she sensed something before her parents went back down, not noticing anything amiss.
That was when Lydia discovered a book on the table. The book was left to its former owners when they died, and she read it. One night, while she was watching TV, she met the first set of ghosts as they were trying to scare them, but the humans didn't seem to notice at all. They were so occupied with their work and didn't believe in the paranormal anyway. They came over, trying to scare Lydia, who didn't seem afraid at all, and took their pictures. After they appeared on the camera, Lydia explained how she saw them and read from their book. The people who lived there were trying to scare them out, and they needed professional help. So they got beetle juice.
They would later regret it.
After the two owners woke up Beetlejuice from his spot on the model, He began to wreak havoc on the house and the other family members that were in it. From dancing. To scare them away from scary monsters. They all saw him. But it was only Lydia who really saw the truth.
After Beetlejuice realized that he could come back from the dead, He needed to marry someone who was alive. And he did so with Lydia. The two owners tried to stop the wedding from happening, but they almost fell apart. But when Lydia said no, they managed to send Beetlejuice back into the afterlife, and things returned to normal at the house. Well almost. The ghosts were still living there.
After Lydia came back from school, she stepped into the house. And disappeared into a portal. She woke up on a bed, realizing it was her new apartment and that she owned the place. She works at a bookstore in Median City. However, she does not seem at all happy that she was there and wants to find her way in this new world and explore it.
