It had been awhile since Kaine had set foot in Median. Not much had changed. Dusk had happened on the horizon. As the sun was starting to set, the sun created beautiful colors over the city, creating hues of red, purple, and yellow. A firey sunset indeed. But that was not while Kaine was there. Kaine had the urge to explore.
While he was helping Otto a lot with retrieving items and helping the space station come to full power, he still felt like he was going to have to come down to Median every once in awhile as he went through one of the portals on the outskirts of town. There were wanted posters all over town about the criminals that were interested in taking down. This hadn’t changed a whole lot since his time in Elusion. There were still criminals, and as he had his Scarlet Spider uniform on, he knew he was going to have to make an appearance sooner or later.
Meanwhile, at one of the nearby museums, about a block away, there was a shady character wearing a tall black cloak on the other side of the room, sneaking past security. He climbed through one of the windows and disarmed the laser grid that was there. Before finding a rather large gem that stood forth, he was only seconds away from taking it all for himself.
Carefully, the man took out an object that had a similar look to the gem. Almost identical. Except it was fake. As he replaced it for that half second. It appeared that he hadn’t even tripped the alarm yet. He hadn’t been sloppy at all as he began to climb back out of the building. Except he didn’t account for the one witness who had been there on the side of the street and spotted the odd activity.
“Stop! Thief! He stole the rare diamond from the museum." The voice carried him as he dashed through the crowd.
Kaine’s spidey sense went off as he heard the screaming as a man in a black cloak rushed past him as he nearly got out of the way in time. “Hey, stop!” Kaine declared. Of course, it fell on deaf ears as Kaine began to follow the man down one of the city pathways as he saw that things were going to get worse. That was when he rounded the corner, and Kaine lost sight of the man who had been there. But he wasn’t giving up. He knew that he would be spotted sooner or later.
He began to climb up the wall of one of the buildings, and he could see a lot clearly from here. “There you are, buddy; you’re not getting away from me this time.” Kaine said, knowing that he could scale the walls easily and climb over to the next building.

Adapting to Median had taken a little time for Jimmy, more so to understand how exactly the landscape and the cities worked. Were they like Earth? Were there the usual matters to be worried about? What kind of hostile lifeforms would he be dealing with? So many questions had plagued him, too many uncertainties that he had to contend with for a time until he got a feel for the planet. And after several months he had found it wasn't so different from the dimension he had come from, minus that what was weird was normal and what was normal would be seen as weird. It was an odd twist, but one he didn't quite mind.
Median had become a favored hub of his when it came to operating as a bounty hunter. Plenty of people congregated to the massive city, both good and the wicked, the normal and the strange, it was a mixing pot that could lead to interesting interactions.
In speaking of interactions, as Jimmy was making his way down the sidewalk scrolling through his messages as he worked out some deals he soon paused as he heard yelling. Without looking up, the young feral mutant focused on the voices hearing someone yell about a thief and he was pretty sure he heard two separate steps rushing. "Well, guess its time to play hero before tracker." Jimmy turned off the phone screen for now and moved to meet the commotion, relying on his hearing to pinpoint the source. There...he heard the steps, the flapping of the cloak, someone was certainly in a rush, and Jimmy could suspect this was the so called thief.
Just a little closer, little bit more...
"Raagghhh![/b]" Jimmy had moved by the corner, waiting patiently until the individual was coming right on top of him...then he swung! He didn't aim for a punch or maim with his claws, instead putting force behind his forearm to cloths line the cloaked figure, enough force to knock them to their back before whipping his entire body around the corner with a snarl. "Where do you think you're going bub?" Jimmy snarled, pouncing to quickly pin the perpetrator with all his weight letting his claws extend from between his knuckles just enough to come close to the would-be thief's throat as a silent warning, "Believe that diamond belongs somewhere pal, don't you." The feral mutant growled in a low, threatening manner.

The man hardly uttered a word as he quickly saw that he was surrounded. Kaine jumped down, swinging forward. He staggered, showing that the punch had been enough to knock him backward. However, he was not going to give up. He might've lost some air in that one, but he would recover. He was still a human, after all. Maybe with some high-powered tech gadgets with him also. But no one should've messed with Wolverine or his offspring. “I’m not here to play games. I did what needed to be done.” The cloak-hooded man said it in a raspy voice. Kaine believed he had him surrounded and recognized the burly, tough-looking blonde on the other side through his mask, as there was no doubt Jimmy Hudson knew of him well as the son of Wolverine or one of the offspring anyway.
“Stop! You’re surrounded!” Kaine said that as he was about to unleash his stingers on the man, he felt his spidey sense go off. “Look out!” Kaine called out as the man took something out of his pocket. He then threw it on the ground as Kaine backed up. Soon, it was clouded in some smoke, and an atmosphere was covering the area as it engulfed them. Kaine felt his lungs starting to choke and cough. Luckily, he did manage to get close enough to stick webbing on his cloak and cover it with a tracking spider drone. Small enough, he might not notice it right away.
When the smoke cleared, Kaine managed to clear his own throat, seeing the other man that he knew from the other dimension. “He got away. Jimmy, are you alright?” He asked. “And long time no see.” Kaine said while looking a little bit dazed. He wasn’t about to give up on this.
“But not for long. I managed to put a tracer on him. I imagine every bit of the police force is looking for him.” Kaine said. While the man spoke very little, it was clear his actions did more talking than anything. With crime lords starting to come to a familiar site on the news, Kaine knew it was only a matter of time before these bad guys started showing their ugly heads. Maybe Kaine needed to visit Median City more than he thought. And that proposition that the other Spider-Man sounded a bit more interesting now. While they were still forming the Web Warriors. Kaine felt a bit torn, as he knew he couldn’t lead them.
Taking out his phone, the tracer was starting to load on the page: “Let’s see where he’s hiding? Don't you suppose you can sniff him out with your senses either?” Kaine asked, knowing that the scent of each man was unique, but he also thought that was kind of gross at the same time. As it wasn’t long before a blip appeared on the screen, it looked like it might be a few blocks away from here. “He’s a few blocks away from here. We better get going.” Kaine said, showing Jimmy his phone tracker the location on the map. He was wondering what the shady cloak figure was up to too. Probably selling it on the black market.

The voice that followed the thief that he had just stopped surprised Jimmy. It was none other than the brooding spider hero himself Kaine, someone he hadn't seen in several months. "So it-" Jimmy had barely gotten two words out before Kaine's warning caused him to whip his gaze back to the thief, eyes widening as he saw the smoke bomb too late.
As the smoke filled the area, Jimmy could feel his eyes and throat beginning to burn as he breathed in some of the smoke, causing him to step back and cough harshly. Not only that, but he could feel his nostrils burn as well, causing him to try and cover his nose and mouth while waving away the lingering smoke. Enhanced senses could sometimes be a royal pain in his butt. Though Kaine showing up out of no where and being a distraction was just as big of a pain..."Damn it Kaine! Have you ever heard of an ambush? Or trying being quiet? Jeez, you and Parker have more in common than you think." Jimmy growled in between coughs, shaking his head as the smoke eventually cleared, but so too had their target. Great..."Not long enough." He grumbled softly, retracting his claws with a soft grunt as he turned to look towards the spider hero.
Jimmy scanned over the phone screen regarding the tracer, giving a soft rumble in response, "You use your tracer, I'll stick to my tried and true method of old school tracking." Jimmy waved Kaine's phone away while confirming he could indeed track the thief. He just hoped it was worth all this trouble. Crouching slightly, the blond haired feral mutant gave a few strong sniffs of where he had knock the thief down, memorizing the unique scent of the cloak and the individual in general.
He had all that he needed.
"Just try to keep up spidey, I'm no waiting on your brooding butt." Jimmy had barely given the forewarning towards Kaine before he was already taking off, tracking the scent unique to the thief. Now if they could just corner them once more and be a little more forceful then maybe they just might get that diamond back.
