Akito is a young Japanese man who stands at about 5' 10" in height and weighs about 200 lbs. Though he is not the most muscular individual, Akito is fairly lean in build with some muscle definition and broad shoulders, having had some involvement in sports or regularly working out. He has a fair complexion with some slight tanning, black hair, and pale brown eyes. When using his Ethereal Weaving, his eyes take on an orange tinge (or other coloration when adding elemental energy) and visible energy-like vein lines appear on his skin with a black cloud emanating from the right side of his face and arms.
His attire is generally casual, consisting of plain t-shirts and long pants that range in various colors but lean into darker hues. Most often, his pants are baggy cargo pants or dark blue or black jeans worn with sneakers or boots. When handling the supernatural or spirits, his attire remains the same aside from a nylon jacket and pants combo, being navy blue in color with white accents, several pockets, buckles lining the pants, similar colored sneakers, and a tactical bag strapped across his chest.
Weapons:
Yumi Bow and arrows
Prayer beads located on his left arm
Powers/Magic:
Ethereal Affinity: In his world, Akito has something called "ethereal affinity", or the ability to connect to and manipulate the energies of the spiritual world. Effectively, Akito can see and manipulate astral/ethereal energy not seen by normal individuals but will manifest in the real world usually in an orangeish-yellow coloration, usually as veins across his skin. When using this ability, Akito can create energy "threads" to achieve several outcomes such as grappling, lassos, whips, chains, and concentrated into shockwaves and concussive blasts, as well as combine this energy with his arrows briefly empowering them. A side effect of this allows Akito to tap into other aspects:
+Spectral Vision: This grants Akito the ability to see the ether or aura of other beings and objects, having a spectral blue aura around them even through walls and doors, but generally lasts for only about a minute at most.
+Elemental Weaving: Through the use of prayer beads obtained in his world, Akito has access to three elemental abilities that increase the use and effectiveness of his Ethereal Weaving. With the Wind element, Akito can create powerful gusts of wind to knock back others or create concussive blasts, usually in rapid fire air bullets or invisible wind blades. A side effect is he can likewise hover for a short distance. With Water, Akito can create thin, razor sharp blades of water usually ranging from one large blade to three smaller ones and with time has learned to create a small barrier. With Fire, Akito can create concentrated, explosive fiery concussive blasts and discharges of small shockwaves to burn others.
+Wire-In: With concentration, Akito can focus a great deal of ethereal energy into his body, allowing him to briefly empower himself and his existing abilities to their fullest extent for a short three minutes but at the cost of severely exhausting his energy reserves and physical body.
Physical Abilities:
Though his Ethereal Affinity does not grant him greater physical abilities, Akito is already quite athletic and has taken to learning martial arts after the incident in Tokyo. He has been quite involved with sports since his youth and is skilled in parkour as well having some skill in archery prior to the events in his world. Likewise, Akito has taken to improving his investigating skills and acquired more knowledge of the occult and supernatural in recent months.
Weaknesses:
Though he can tap into spiritual/astral energy, Akito is still human and can still be affected by disease and conventional weapons.
When using his elemental weaving, Akito cannot use more than one element at a time, having to pick and choose which element to use in the moment.
As of right now, Akito specializes in only one type of weapon with his bow and arrows, limiting the versatility of his physical weapons.
Akito's abilities take a great deal of energy and focus, meaning extensive use will make him exhausted, have headaches, and drain him physically and mentally.
Akito likewise can only manipulate ethereal energy, and is limited only to his Weaving and incapable of such feats as telepathy, telekinesis, and other psionic abilities.

Personality:
Akito has always been more of an emotionally closed off individual. Not really so much apathetic or lacking emotion, but more so a quiet, solemn individual who preferred keeping to himself and having few friends. He has been more than satisfied to be introverted and private, generally being guarded with his emotions to the point he's only opened up to a few individuals and usually had a soft spot for his family and those few in his inner circle. Though, Akito was more than capable of being social adept and well-spoken, but never being one for crowds. HIs attitude has always been serious, somewhat cold, and guarded, made worse when he lost his parents, becoming colder and more closed off than ever before. This actually unintentionally drove his last living relative, his sister, to a depressive state.
It wasn't until Hannya took over Japan and he was forcibly taken over by KK did his attitude change. Akito revealed a more sarcastic dry side, showing himself to be quite headstrong and not much for being ordered around. In fact, Akito can be one that butts heads with others and prefers to handle situations his way. Overall, he has a gruff attitude but can have a tough love sort of outlook, not exactly being cold hearted and actually goes out of his way to help others if he can. He is not above feeling regret and remorse, showing his closed off quietness was more of shell hiding the true Akito within who has a great deal of compassion and is perhaps a little more emotional than he is willing to admit. Though, he is also known to be hot blooded and short tempered at times, much more preferring to do what he feels he needs to do rather than someone telling him what needs to be done.
History:
Akito is a twenty-two year old young man who has lived his entire life in Tokyo, Japan, being the older brother to the late Mari Izuki whom he was close to since they were children. At one point, the two had loving parents who they were also close to, having a relatively normal life until a fateful accident tore the two from their lives and eventually a fire broke out in their home, causing Mari to end up in the hospital for long-term care. Thus, Akito's life fell into shambles as he tried to work and look out for his sister, visiting her almost every day in the hopes she would get better. But one fateful day would change Akito's life forever.
That day begins with a spirit flying over the scene of a traffic collision. The spirit is looking for a body to possess and decides to use Akito's body who was rendered unconscious from the accident. Akito wakes up, still in control of his body except for his right hand, which is under control of the spirit. Soon after, a terrifying fog rolls in, turning anyone caught in it into a spirit, but Akito is spared thanks to the spirit possessing him. A man in a Hannya mask (known only as Hannya) appears on the digital signs near the area and uses a spell to summon evil entities, known as visitors, sealing the disembodied spirits of the civilians away in cages all across Shibuya. Akito is told by the spirit he needs to hunt Hannya down to stop him, but Akito convinces the spirit to let him go check on his sister, Mari Izuki, who is in a coma at the local hospital.
The spirit grants Akito spirit-based powers to help him fight his way to Mari's room, but find that Hannya has beat them there and wants to use Mari for some sort of ritual. When Akito tries to interfere, Hannya stabs him through the chest and kidnaps Mari. As he lays dying, Akito has a flashback, showing that Mari is comatose due to a house fire. Akito talks to the spirit (who tells Akito to call him KK) and agrees to help him stop Hannya. KK saves Akito's life and tells him to go to a safe house KK had set up before he died.
At the safe house, KK reveals he was part of a team of investigators who tried to stop Hannya but failed. KK sends Akito to the Kagerie Observation tower to scan the town for clues, where they spot one of Hannya's allies going into an underground train station. The two follow and find an underground shrine where Hannya and his allies are preparing for their ritual. KK reveals that Hannya plans to steal enough souls to destroy the barrier between the world of the living and the dead so Hannya can resurrect his dead wife and daughter. Hannya and the others escape, leaving Akito to fight Hannya's ally, but in the course of the fight the enemy's mask gets blown off, revealing it is actually a puppet made from KK's human body. The puppet capitalizes on KK's shock to separate KK from Akito and seal him away, leaving Akito powerless.
Akito manages to escape to the surface and heads back to KK's safe house to figure out how to find him. There he meets one of KK's old partners, Rinko, who gives him KK's commuter pass case and a picture of KK's wife and son. Rinko also helps Akito use his lingering connection to KK to find and reunite with him. Just as the two reunite, a pillar of light appears, showing that Hannya has started his ritual. The two pursue Hannya and confront him. Hannya's two other allies reveal themselves to be puppets made from Hannya's wife and daughter. Akito defeats the daughter puppet, but is delayed enough for Hannya to unleash a giant spirit monster upon the town and escape into the toxic fog.
Unable to follow on foot, KK reveals that Rinko made a custom motorcycle capable of passing through the fog. After collecting additional parts to complete the bike, the two travel to Tokyo Tower and confront the mother puppet. At the top of the tower, Hannya takes Mari and jumps into the mouth of the giant spirit monster. Akito is attacked by the KK puppet again but manages to destroy it.
Akito and KK follow Hannya into the giant's mouth. Inside, they pass through a series of doors representing Akito and Mari's memories, revealing that Akito was an emotionally closed off person, which was only exacerbated by his parents' deaths. With the loss of her parents and Akito's coldness towards her, Mari fell into an almost suicidal depression. The two heroes catch up to Hannya as he opens a direct gate to the underworld, but before he can finish the ritual, Mari's spirit appears and throws him into the gate. As her spirit starts to fade away, she tells Akito that her accident wasn't his fault. She reveals that she had a chance to escape the fire but went back to grab their parents' wedding rings as they were the only thing they had left of them. As Mari dies, Hannya climbs back out and fuses himself with his daughter and wife's spirits, turning himself into a monstrous amalgamation. The two heroes finish him off for good, freeing all the souls Hannya captured. The spirits of Akito's parents arrive to escort Mari to the afterlife as Akito promises her that he'll lead a good life from then on. With the crisis averted, Akito returns to the living world and KK's spirit leaves his body permanently.
Shortly after these events, Akito continued the work KK and his investigation team started, gradually discovering his own abilities in the process. However, it is quite recently when investigating what he thought was a supernatural phenomenon was actually minions of the Dark Star, causing him to be dragged to Median.
