''I can get most crowds to hear my sermons. Animals shouldn't be different. Certain animals obey. Dogs. I don't know about cats.'' His shoulders went up.
''Water should be fine,'' Amos said.
The preacher was suddenly thoughtful for a second.
''I guess I could become one expert when it comes to potions. Sooner or later. Yet I prefer preaching. It would be useful to figure out any potions for cooling me down. Healing me. Maybe healing others.''

"Crowds of people will likely be different than crowds of animals. Yes, but I doubt they'd listen to your sermons. It seems like that would be beyond their understanding." He raised an eyebrow.
"Very well, then."
The wizard prepared to cast his spell when required.
"It does take some work. Not everyone has the capabilities. I see. That one would take some looking into. There are healing potions, though."

''Then again, I've never tried animals before. It should be interesting to deliver sermons by them. Are they going to hear my voice? I'm not certain. Maybe. It could be interesting to find out.''
As for the spell taking time?
''There isn't any need for you to hurry. Healing potions seem good to me. Do you label potions? How do you remember which potions are which? Are they different colors?''

"I can't see it being successful. They generally don't understand such things. Lucius had never heard of such things, aside from the very rare Parselmouth. Even then, it only applied to serpents.
He nodded at the preacher.
Very well, then. I should have some already for sale at my shop. Yes, every potioneer ought to. Labels help. Yes, depending on the ingredients."

''Don't most animals obey tricks? I thought they did. If animals are able to understand certain words, they should obey a preacher.'' Amos smiled. Four creatures? Two of them? He didn't seem to mind. Just as long as there were animal groups.
''I could help with organizing potions if you'd like.''
Amos was usually organized. Gathering crowds. Obeying orders. Then again, he couldn't keep track of every face.

"Some of them do. However, preaching seems to be more than that. Animals are not that complex." Lucius couldn't see how such a thing could work. Animals were not like people. They could not be coerced like people. It seemed doomed to fail.
"I am more than capable of doing that myself, but thank you for the offer."
Once again, Lucius feigned politeness. He had little reason to drop his façade.

''If we locate any animals, I can try my plan.'' Assuming he wasn't attacked by any of them. He guessed he could always lash out with a tentacle. Amos nodded and smiled about the latter's recent words. ''Always offering my services. Well, I am a minion.''
''Then again, I'm not used to potions. I would probably be clumsy and drop one.'' He frowned and bit his lip.
Amos kept his eye on surroundings.
''At least the conversation is preventing me from focusing on the heat.''

"I suppose so, but I cannot see it being successful." He highly doubted it would work. Animals simply were too different from humans. Lucius raised an eyebrow at the minion comment. "I see. I am currently not in need of someone like that."
"Then perhaps it is best I work alone. I cannot afford such setbacks." He continued to look for ingredients.
Lucius knew it wouldn't be too long before he could return to his shop.
"I suppose that is something, at least."

Reverend Howell's eyes widened. ''Work alone? Permanently or just with potions?'' he asked. He bit his lip. Amos usually didn't worry about a lot of things. Solitude was something he dreaded every now and then. Ever since his family taught him how important unity was during his childhood.
If Amos happened to be really clumsy? He wondered if his master would have kept him. There seemed to be plenty of other prophets from the amount of victims gathered from time to time.
''Maybe I won't be clumsy with potions. You could always give me another task,'' Amos offered.
Hopefully he misunderstood the working alone part with just potions.

Lucius raised an eyebrow."Yes, work alone. Permanently, I have not found anyone I wish to work with just yet," he replied. He couldn't see what was so bad about that. Sometimes it was necessary. Especially when one wanted to keep one's secrets hidden.
"That is a possibility. However, magic as a whole and clumsiness is a rather dangerous combination," Lucius pointed out. He could not afford anything bad happening in his shop.

''I'm very loyal. I could protect you from enemies. Obey your every order. I'm used to doing those things in the first place. You can be my master. I don't have to necessarily be near potions. Correct?''
The thought of solitude dawned on Amos with every passing moment. He really hated the thought. More than murder.
''Well, I'm not always clumsy. I've just never been around potions before.'' Amos suddenly imagined himself accidentally dropping a potion. He knew full well that it was a bad idea to say so.
''I could run errands for you.''

"This isn't a question of loyalty. Although that is an admirable trait, I am more than capable of dealing potential threats. Hmmm, I have yet to meet someone who upholds that kind of promise. Having someone who is not a house-elf call me that is rather odd. It is a possibility. However, that doesn't mean something else won't go wrong."
Working alone was something Lucius had become accustomed to. He wasn't afraid to be by himself. After all, he could certainly handle himself in a fight.
"I see. Either way, you are a novice." Lucius knew that such a person could still pose a risk. The was no room for error when it came to magic.
"I am no stranger to running my own errands."

''Potential threat?'' Amos asked with wide eyes. Although he was a bit sadistic sometimes, he remained faithful. He remembered rarely helping out people considered to be heroic if there was enough boredom. Superhero or villain. Neutral. Amos was never exactly picky about which people he chose to be around.
''House-elf?'' Confusion appeared in his eyes while he blinked. ''Nothing is going to go wrong. You have my word,'' he said with another frown.
''How am I a novice?'' Amos asked with extra bewilderment in his tone. Dark eyes narrowed. ''I've been preaching ever since I was a young boy. Always following orders from other people. My father. Another member of the clergy.'' His alien master before he was pulled into this world against his will.
''The offer to run your errands remains.''

"Yes, I would not be surprised if something wished to harm me here," Lucius replied with a raised eyebrow. He didn't think it was too far-fetched to think that. After all, he had many enemies in his own world.
"A servant creature from my own world." He eyed the preacher warily. "I doubt that is something that can be guaranteed. Promises are not to be taken lightly, he pointed out.
"You are unfamiliar with magic," Lucius replied smoothly. "It has little to do with your preaching. Unless you are utilizing magic when you preach." He did not trust the preacher enough to make them a servant.
"Very well."

''I'll gladly protect you from any creatures or people wishing to cause us harm. I can't protect you if you're alone. If you never appeared here? The heat may have killed me. I am eternally grateful.'' He nodded.
''I see about the house-elf. Perhaps we would get along, since we're both servants.''
Unfamiliar with magic.
''True about my lack of knowledge. I could learn about magic. I don't use it when I preach. Unfortunately.''
Very well?
Oh. Running his errands?
''You won't be disappointed,'' Amos said.
